FLOOR GRAPHICS

Durable, full colour floor graphics are the ideal way to get your customers attention.

Floor graphics are the perfect material for retail display, aisle markers, exhibition halls, promotional events, museums and airports.

Fantasy Prints indoor floor graphics use a new slip resistant laminate over a removable self-adhesive vinyl, so all our floor graphics are waterproof and fade resistant. When applied to a smooth, clean floor the material will last up to 6 months (depending upon foot traffic).

The floor graphic can be easily cleaned and has an excellent slip and wear resistance during it's functional life, short term exposure to water, cleaning agents, IPA (Isopropylalcohol), diluted acetic acid, salt spray when used on indoor floors, will not damage the surface.

Almost anywhere you have pedestrian traffic, outdoor floor graphics can present your message to customers, clients, visitors and employees. Outdoor floor graphics deliver the perfect short term advertising and promotions vehicle for retailers, schools, public buildings, sports and other entertainment venues, and is ideal for outdoor events, grand openings and even plant safety messages.

The outdoor durability of a completed StreetRap floor graphic is up to 3 months for pedestrian traffic on smooth to slightly rough surfaces and conforms to the slip resistance standard ASTM C-1028-2007 - this is the newest, most consistent, CoF (Coefficient of Friction) test protocol and one of the few to be approved for testing on wet surfaces.

Application of Floor Graphics

Floor graphics can be used on most floors, but is not recommended on the following floors:

  • Waxy, rough or porous ceramic tiles or wooden floors
  • Textile mats and carpets
  • Rubber matting
  • Soft PVC matting
  • Marble discolouration of the marble might occur as a result of its porous composition.
  • Very irregular floor surfaces

It is recommended to round off the corners of floor graphics by a radius of at least 5 mm as sharp corners make graphics more vulnerable to damage or delamination.

Floor Cleaning

All floors have to be cleaned and degreased prior to application of your floor graphics. First clean the floor in a conventional way as prescribed by the floor detergent manufacturer. Do not use chemically aggressive detergents. Dry the floor with a lint free cloth.

Then degrease the floor area that has to be covered, using degreasing agents (IPA, White Spirit or similar) and again a lint free cloth. Check again prior to application that there are no dust or dirt particles on the area to be covered.

Determine the exact position where the floor graphic will be applied. Make sure that the edges of the floor graphic never start at a tile edge or joint or on a parquet floor joint. Put the laminated graphic upside down and remove the liner (partial removal or the presence of liner backslits will facilitate positioning and application).

  • Peel the backing paper away from the film and overlaminate construction and not the film from the backing paper.
  • Apply the graphic with a hard plastic squeegee with firm, overlapping strokes. After completion of the application, check and resqueegee the edges of the graphic.
  • Allow at least 30 minutes for the adhesion to build up sufficiently prior to walking on the graphic.
  • Allow 4 to 6 hours for the adhesive to “settle down” before the graphic can be exposed to cleaning, polishing etc.

Removal after use

Floor graphics can easily be removed, without leaving adhesive residues, by starting the removal at a corner and then continue the removal at 90° angle. Dirty contour edges on the floor may appear after graphic removal: these can be removed through the normal cleaning procedures for the floor to which the graphic was applied.
